Becky Schultz is a US-based abstract expressionist artist. Her work is expressive, bold and full of energy. Pushing creative boundaries and the use of ever evolving techniques, each layer on the canvas is uniquely painted using mainly acrylics to create vibrant works of art.
Becky draws inspiration from her every day life. Her work evokes a visual dance of emotion and expression on canvas.
A self taught artist, she didn’t begin her art career until her mid thirties. Becky’s following on social media has grown to include everyone from former US Presidents to her childhood best friend that grew up across the street and that’s exactly the vision; everyone gets a seat at her table. A mother to her son Jack, Becky enjoys nature, traveling, cooking and is always up for a new adventure. Her art can be seen hanging in the homes of rock stars, professional athletes, private collectors, US Businesses and internationally.
Using acrylics as the artist's preferred medium, abstract expressionism works can contain upwards of 20 layers of paint per canvas!
See if you can spot the "living edge" on each work. The purposeful textured edge around the canvas acts as an extension of the work, giving it a one of a kind canvas shape, dimension and feel. Abstract Expressionism celebrates drawing outside of the lines and the living edges on Becky's works are a perfect example of this rebellion.
In a world that’s flooded with technology and machine made perfection, a painting provides a welcome alternative; a way to connect with something real and intimate.
“I love nature, the outdoors & adventure. A passion for life and appreciation of the little things in this world; that’s the sort of stuff that is important to me. I’m the kind of artist who stops to smell the roses, notices the details, says the words, falls in love with the sunrise/sunset & soaks up the everyday beautiful moments life has to offer. I tell corny jokes and adore laughing with loved ones. Inspiration is drawn from every layer of my experience in this world. There is a piece of me in every canvas I create.”
